Mornington Peninsula Tours

The Main Ridge/Red Hill Winery Tour
971-150x800-4.jpgDue to popular request, Schöffered Tours are proud to present our Main Ridge/Red Hill Winery Tour on the Mornington Peninsula. We zip down a freeway or two in less than an hour from Melbourne's "big smoke" to the idyllic Mornington Peninsula, where many Melbournites have spent Christmas/New Years and Easter breaks.

The peninsula's salty sea breezes lend themselves to creating a unique ecosystem, where only a few hardy varieties of grapes can prosper. This area is home to the Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio wine styles, made from the same variety of grape, but in either the French or Italian wine-making style. Both are superb, in their own way. Which is our favourite? Haven't decided yet. We'll let you be the judges.

There are stylish Chardonnay's, that are light and cleansing to the palate. The cold weather gives them a uniquely subtle flavour, that differentiates them from the other regions of Australia.

But don't think that this region is a white wine only climate! There are some seriously terrific Pinot Noir's to be quaffed at your leisure. And there are Shiraz's, Rosso's (a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Nebbiolo), and even a Sangiovese, which are sourced from other regions, and made into superb sips by the local vignerons.

We don't want you to take our word for it "sight unseen" (or should we say "taste untried")! We await your bookings with anticipation, and a first class "welcome" to our latest "wine-tasting extravaganza".

Our tours typically take in up to five wineries, one of which is usually the lunch venue. Whether we get to all five wineries is dependent on how the day pans out. We prefer to ensure that our clients obtain maximum enjoyment of the day, by not rushing from one winery to another, just to fit them all in. Should our clients be enjoying themselves at a particular location, we leave them the option to move on or not.

Prices include lunch, tasting fees, and scheduled stops. Extras such as morning or afternoon teas, a visit to a hand-made chocolate maker, or other options that you may require, can be arranged at negotiated prices.

Please note that scheduling these into the day, will limit the number of wineries to be taken in. Some things can be fitted into the existing schedule, but we are then obliged to structure it more to the time constraints. We are happy for the client to choose, and be happy with their choice.

Price:
2 persons : $165-00 per person; 4 persons : $145-00 per person; 5 - 20 persons : $125-00 per person; 20 + persons : prices on application.
